Country Thunder Arizona

This review comes from the viewpoint of a previously non-country fan that has spent Wednesday through Monday at Country Thunder with family & friends for the first time. The camping experience here is great and includes many attractions such as; stripper poles, slip-n-slides, whiskey & beer waterfalls and giant see-saws just to name a few. Most of the people are very friendly and in a happy, well inebriated state most of the time. The escape that Country Thunder offers goes beyond country music, it's stage shows or any of the attractions offered. If you allow it, Country Thunder will transform your time there into a time of excitement and enjoyment far beyond the daily grind that you're hoping to escape from. The concerts we saw, (except for the Friday night Jason Aldean show) that suffered from some serious sound issues were top notch. Since I've never been a country music fan I was pleasantly surprised that I really enjoyed the Big & Rich, Toby Keith and Luke Brian shows as much as I did. I have always enjoyed live music, but the performances and content really kept us wanting more. The audience sang along as we listened to the country labeled content that in reality has more of a rock-n-roll content than most other music genres. Even if you're not a country fan get an RV and reserve your spot with friends and family in the grass at Country Thunder. Of course you'll need to bring lots of your favorite beverages for yourself and others if you like to share because you'll have plenty of new friends to share it with while you're visiting other camps in the compound. I'll close this review with the old tried and true phrase that has survived the ages; "You only live once."

so much fun! I was honestly shocked by how much there was to do besides the concert itself. there were 2 tattoo/piercing shops, tons of bars, TONS of clothing stands, places to buy jewelry, hats, belts, flags, TONS of fair food like burgers and tenders... it was hot af and not TOO much shade but if you like the desert eat this ones of you. there even was a breathalyzer stand where the local cops would breathalyze you and the higher your BAC the better prize you'd get LOL

It is a Music Festival, no holds barred, plenty of drunks. Good times had by all. This has been a great experience overall the last seven years I have attended. You are going to run into belligerent people, happened wherever you go, but, there are way more nicer people than not. There is a good representation of all age groups. There will be loud music, generators running, weather related things like wind, rain, heat and cold. Be prepared for at least two of them. There is a lot of dust in the air day and night. Drinks are 7.00 each for alcohol. You need to get your age verification wristband just after entering the venue. You then need to buy your food and drink tickets from a booth. You will need cash to buy these. There are ATM's throughout the venue areas. There are quite a few vendors with various trinkets and services to offer. When you are done in the venue you head back to your camp, or, drop in to any inviting camp along the way for interesting people, games, conversation. You can't buy Love at the event but you may be able to get something like it, in the crazy coyote camp grounds any given evening. Not an overly, kid-friendly event but people still bring them. You can bring pets but there are a lot of people in close proximity at any time, loud vehicles, music and unpredictable people so prepare for that if bringing them.
